BGCSJC provides meaningful opportunities for students that qualify for Federal Work Study to gain experience working with youth and in public service while earning money to help pay for the costs of attending college.
We currently accept federal works study students from the following universities:
Indiana University South Bend
University of Notre Dame
Holy Cross College
Ivy Tech Community College, North Central
What is the process?
Applying for a work-study job at Boys & Girls Clubs is a longer process than just becoming a volunteer or intern. There are several initial steps you must take before you can even apply for a FWS job at Boys & Girls Club:
1.Complete the FAFSA.
2.Contact your financial aid department to determine or apply for FWS eligibility.
3.Once approved, contact FWS/Career Services office at your university to apply officially for an open position (see contacts to the left).
4.Complete university application and background screens.
5.Complete Boys & Girls Clubs of St. Joseph County application and background check.
6.Meet with potential supervisor and interview for a position.
7.Complete employee orientation.
8.Begin your FWS job at the Boys & Girls Club!
