SABGC Ribbon Cutting

Consider that ribbon CUT!

Our community came together today to celebrate and unveil the renovations made to our OC Carmichael Jr. Youth Center, as well as the ribbon-cutting for the new Success Academy at Boys and Girls Club!
Our Club kids and future Success students got a sneak peek at our beautifully redone building. Established in 1997, the OC Carmichael Jr. Youth Center has seen thousands of Club kids, families, and staff through its doors, and serves as our flagship site and foundation.
The new partnership with Success enables the building to operate at its full capacity to serve kids - before school, during the day, and through our after school program. Our after school Club program will remain open to Club kids from surrounding schools and districts.
Success Academy BGC will open in August 2023 for K-5th grade students. The school will use a co-teaching model and curriculum emphasizing STEM, project-based learning, and a competency-based approach. On Fridays, students and Club kids will take part in experiential learning throughout South Bend and surrounding areas, where students can begin exploring career ideas and interests within our city and community.
Together, our organizations will work to meet the needs of the kids we serve and the surrounding community, ensuring that every child gets a great start!
