Community and Law Enforcement Engagement

Two of our outstanding club directors, Destiny Castillo (Wilson Elementary) and Sarah Bond (Harrison Elementary), graduated from the Citizens Police Academy through the South Bend Police Department.

Two of our outstanding club directors, Destiny Castillo (Wilson Elementary) and Sarah Bond (Harrison Elementary), graduated from the Citizens Police Academy through the South Bend Police Department. The goal of the citizens Police Academy is to foster a spirit of cooperation between the city, its residents and their police department.

Some of the topics covered over the 9 week program included, Hands-on demonstrations from K-9, SWAT and the Bomb Disposal Unit, Crime Scene Processing, Shoot, Don’t Shoot simulation, Narcotics Enforcement, Patrol Operations and Communications.
