LITERACY PROGRAM

Our STRIVE Literacy Program was created in conjunction with our community partner Robinson Community Learning Center. The program consists of four main components: Read Aloud, Learning Activity, Writing, and Sight Word practice. During the Read Aloud, students are able to work on various comprehension strategies and hear fluent reading. The Learning Activities are hands-on activities where students are able to develop a deeper understanding of the books and learning outcomes. During writing, students write a variety of different pieces including stories, opinion pieces, how-to essays and more! The Literacy block ends with a game to help students learn to read and write grade level appropriate sight words.
