Who We Are
History:
A proud affiliate of Family & Children's Center, Boys & Girls Clubs of St. Joseph County was founded in 1974. This "Positive Place for Kids" all started in a garage on South Bend's southwest side in response to a business owner seeing area children hanging around and roaming the streets. Strategically placed in neighborhoods identified as having a high need for positive youth intervention, nearly 2,000 children, ages 6 -18, are served each year at Boys & Girls Clubs of St. Joseph County at six Club sites and three satellite sites.
Mission:
All Boys & Girls Clubs adhere to one mission - to inspire and enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens.
Vision:
Boys & Girls Clubs of St. Joseph County's vision includes maximizing impact and building a "legacy of leadership" over the next five years so that our Club members are recognized for making positive contributions throughout St. Joseph County through community service, involvement and youth leadership.
