The Pied Piper of local Kids Club
Dan Peck appointed as Executive Director of Boys & Girls Club of Saint Joseph County
Even when Dan Peck was a kid himself, he could be found helping other kids. While still in high school he was already helping to lead younger teens at his church youth group. Dan reveals that it is his upbringing in Saint Joseph County that helped him to find his passion for helping kids, “I have always had a strong desire to become more involved in my home community.”
Those early experiences will serve him well as he takes on a new role as Executive Director of Boys & Girls Club of Saint Joseph County. He brings with him a degree in psychology from Indiana University and a Master of Social Work from Loyola University of Chicago.
Boys & Girls Clubs of America has a lineup of more than 25 tested-and-proven, nationally-recognized programs available in the areas of education, the environment, health, fine arts, careers, alcohol/drug and pregnancy prevention, gang prevention, character development and athletics. Their core program is comprised of five components: Character and Leadership; Education and Career; Health and Life Skills; The Arts; and Sports, Fitness, and Recreation. All are interrelated and serve to involve members in experiences that enhance the development of their physical, social, educational, vocational and moral lives.
Dan is passionate about making a difference in the lives of children and it shows. “The Boys & Girls Club has a very solid history with helping youth reach their full potential,” Dan says with an easy eagerness. “The Club changes lives - that's why I want to be a part of it!”
